Aug 14, 2013 – update
OK, back later than excpected (only a little over a year this time). Noticed there were some comments telling me the links for the Windows 32-bit drivers were dead (again), so I updated them and they should be working again.
Until next time, bye!
June 13, 2012 – update
After nearly three years I found this site again thanks to a visitor who left a comment notifying me that all the links for the Windows XP 32-bit drivers were broken. I found the drivers on my computer and uploaded them again, this time to five new locations.
For Windows Vista 32-bit / Windows XP 64-bit and Vista 64-bit I have no clue if the links still work / are helpful though.
Anyway, see you in another 3 years 🙂
A lot of people, including me, have had problems with the Linksys WUSB54GC WiFi USB-stick. The official Linksys drivers work poorly, and Linksys themselves are not very interested in fixing the issues with their own drivers.
Below I have published some tricks on how to get the WUSB54GC to work as it should, for Windows XP 32/64 and Vista 32/64. I personally use Windows XP 32 and have compiled a custom driver package from different sources which works good for me, e.g. no connection drops or hang-ups. For the other operating systems, please see the links to the excellent guides made by some other WUSB54GC users.
Windows XP 32-bit
Just download the custom drivers in the link below, and update the driver for your WUSB54GC (I’ve uploaded the driver to several places in case some of them stop working).
Windows Vista 32-bit Please see the following link: http://www.decimation.com/markw/2007/12/04/wusb54gc-and-vista/ (also contains some general information regarding the WUSB54GC, good place to start if you’re still having trouble!)
